iKON held their second solo concert yesterday, January 30, 2016 and today, January 31, 2016 in just four months of debut.
In September last year, iKON held their first solo concert at the Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Stadium, demonstrating they had great ticket power unlike a rookie. Only four months have passed since their debut, and now iKON is holding a second solo concert at the same venue. This is unprecedented for a rookie and has surprised those in the music industry.
All the 13,000 tickets to their first solo concert were sold almost as soon as the ticket sale began. When the ticket sale for their second concert took place on January 6-7, they proved they still had the same ticket power by selling all the tickets to their concerts.
iKON will start with the Seoul concert and then hold a concert in Daegu on February 27 and in Busan on March 5. They will perform the title tracks of their recently-released album “DUMB & DUMBER” and “WHAT’S WRONG” along with their other hit songs. It will be a chance to see how much they have grown as artists.
iKON debuted last September by releasing “MY TYPE”. Since then, iKON has topped major online music charts with high quality songs in various genres such as “RHYTYM TA”, “APOLOGY” and “DUMB & DUMBER”. Recently, iKON has even taken the no.1 spot of Mnet’s M Countdown chart for three weeks in a row with “DUMB & DUMBER”.
Furthermore, they have won awards at the 2015 Melon Music Awards, MAMA, the Seoul Music Awards, and the Golden Disk Awards. They were indeed the hottest rookie of the year 2015.
They proved themselves a “monster rookie” again by topping Japan’s Oricon charts on January 13 upon their debut in Japan. Drawing upon their popularity in Japan, iKON will start a Japan Arena Concert tour holding 14 concerts in five cities including Fukuoka and Tokyo. The tour will begin next month and is expected to draw 146,000 people.
